About LK Paving

Three generations of asphalt, one man who shows up.

I started young. Not in an office—on site, with my father, learning asphalt the way you learn anything that matters: by doing it, by watching someone who knew, by making mistakes and fixing them. Industrial work. Real work. That foundation shaped everything about how I approach this business today.

When I started LK Paving, I carried that apprenticeship forward. I visit every job site from start to finish. Not because it's protocol. Because it matters. Because I've seen what happens when someone doesn't show up—when a contractor treats your driveway or parking lot like one more job on a Tuesday. I wanted to be different. I still do.

Growing Up in the Trade

There's a difference between learning asphalt and learning the business of asphalt. My father taught me the first. The second came from watching how people respond when you show respect for their property and their time. Early on, I realized that every job was someone's investment—a driveway they'd walk their kids on, a parking lot they'd rely on for years. That weight never left me.

I learned fast that the work itself is only part of it. The relationship matters. How you communicate, whether you listen, whether you actually solve the problem instead of the one that pays best. Third generation work teaches you that your name is on everything you touch. That's not marketing. That's just real.

'I'm willing to work with anybody with any situation. Not because I'm flexible about quality. Because I remember what it felt like to need someone who actually cared.'

What We've Learned

Being locally owned means something specific in Chattanooga. It means your reputation is built one neighbor at a time. I don't have a corporate office covering for me if something goes wrong. I don't have a marketing department spinning stories. I have my word and my willingness to make it right.

Showing up to every job from start to finish isn't efficient in spreadsheet terms. But it catches problems early. It means I see what the crew is doing, what the site requires, what needs adjusting. It means you get work that reflects actual care, not just a quote and a promise.

Willingness to work with anybody in any situation—that came from understanding that everyone's circumstances are different. Different budgets. Different timelines. Different prior experiences with contractors who didn't deliver. I've been on enough job sites to know that flexibility on approach doesn't mean giving up on the result. It means listening first and solving second.

How We Work

You'll notice that I'm present. Not distant. You'll get a straight answer about what's needed and why. You'll see the crew taking care of your property like it's ours. And if something shifts during the work, you'll hear about it directly from me, not through a third party or an email that's supposed to sound professional but doesn't actually help.

Whether you need tar and chip, asphalt paving, sealcoating, grading, recycled asphalt, or traffic line painting, the approach is the same: clarity about what you're getting, visibility into how it happens, and accountability that doesn't hide behind a company structure.

If you're in Chattanooga and you need paving work done right, call. Let's talk about what you're facing and whether we're the right fit. That conversation costs nothing and tells you everything.
